Career Fair
Last Friday I had the privilege of being one of two Toyon representatives to the Harvey Mudd Career fair. I enjoyed the experience of the other side of things. By the end I was sure of one thing. The way I had approached career fairs as a student, I never would have considered hiring myself.

Heh. As someone currently on the other side of things (as you know), can you elaborate a bit?

There are some things easier to describe than others. Confidence (or lack thereof) was the biggest thing I noticed. So many people just wander around handing out resumes without really engaging with you. A resume by itself does very little unless it is very impressive. Several people, on the other hand, talked to me and had already read up about Toyon and knew exactly why they wanted to work for us.
There are other things based on what our HR person told me before going, but as that is more specific to the way our company operates, I don't feel like I should share those things, and certainly not publicly.
